Chicago's independent purveyors of "funk for all" continue to share their new album of original rock ’n roll piece by piece, Local Motive's sophomore full-length album titled “Slice of Life,” following up their Memorial Day 2022 double A-side release (Naive + Supposed To Be), with the next installment of the Slice of Life story.

This collection of 3 songs is called "Gloria & The Ghost Songs."

The cover artwork, also created by Mike Vinopal, continues to elevate personal snapshots from the families of his bandmates to fine art, hanging on the walls of this make-believe museum. Honoring family this way was the traditional originally established for their first full length, the Grams LP with a classic photo of original bassist Brett Weides' grandma & grandpa.

This art honors the grandfather of drummer Todd Gutner in the two photographs flanking the central portrait. The center snapshot honors trombonist Alex Willhite's mother & grandmother, carrying on the tradition.

These songs outline the second section of a narrative about grieving and growing that is extremely personal. The sequence of Gloria > Killer (The First Ghost) > My Oh My (The Second Ghost) incorporates spirits from the original ensemble, utilizing sessions from 2017's Grams LP to intersperse haunting memories of original vocalist Daniella Rojas in the fresh performances of Killer & My Oh My.
